SHEAR VERIFICATION

ERC is a leading provider of Shear Verification services for both surface and subsea BOP systems. We possess extensive experience in providing these verification packages and have successfully delivered hundreds of certifications to a large number of clients.

Required Information

ERC provides shear verification services for both surface and subsea BOP equipment. In order to provide a shear verification package, information regarding the following items is required:

I

BOP – the type, size, and configuration of the BOP and shear rams

I

Well – the well location and pressures expected to be encountered during operations

I

Pipe – the size and characteristics of the pipe(s) expected to be used during operations

I

Shear Test – documentation of actual shearing and subsequent pressure integrity test results for the most rigid pipe to be used

With regards to shear testing requirements, ERC has developed an extensive database of shear test documentation that can be used in many instances. In instances where the necessary documentation is not available, however, ERC will witness and and document a test in support of delivering a complete shear verification package.

For additional information regarding shear verification requirements or to submit a shear verification request, please contact us.
